I stated with a Head paddle and assumed it was me. I'm just not that good with racquet sports.Bought these on a whim and omigosh I have actual control, a tone more accuracy and holy geez I can serve respectably?I'm 5'0" 100 lbs, btw. My partner, a fit medium size guy, hates this racket and prefers the Head.

If you are brand new to pickleball, and are planning to hit the court for the first time, these paddles will be a great choice for you. These were the paddles my wife and I started off with, and while they aren't the finest paddles in all the land, they are plenty good to hit the court with and start to dink and drive and learn the basics of the game. They feel pretty good in the hand, are fairly forgiving, and have ample pop and an extremely satisfying thwack when you nail the sweet spot. They don't offer much in the way of generating spin, but to be quite honest, spin isn't really that important when you are starting out...so I wouldn't worry about that. As a bonus, the bag and balls are a nice addition, at least to get you started. All together, this package gives you everything you need to hit the court and start your pickleball addiction.

Just starting to get into this sport, these are a lil pricey for entry level, but after reading reviews the lower priced units are heavier and fatigue the wrist and forearm. These are very light and sturdy, would recommend, a lil pricey

I was interested in finding a good paddle and less interested in the extra stuff. So this review is focused primarily on the paddle. I did a lot of homework before settling on a paddle to start my "pickleball journey". This paddle met all the key characteristics I read for a good basic paddle. I've played with this paddle pretty regularly and often since I got it this past spring and it has held up well. I don't play well enough to say if or when I'll be ready to "move up" in paddles. So I'm happy with my choice.Like I mentioned earlier, I was less interested in the balls and the bag, but they were a nice inclusion at least to get started with. I've played pickleball with other brands of balls and found that I prefer the Franklin ones most. But the ones that come with the set are better than nothing and definitely playable.The bag is nice but the shoulder strap became unreliable when it came apart at the seam where it attached to the bag (I've since tied that end to the top handle strap).
